Can I take advantage of Web forwarding (redirect) if I have registered a domain name with another company?

No, Web forwarding is only available to you CyberLynk is hosting your domain name.

How do I set up a website with CyberLynk?

1.)If you are looking for your own domain name please go to http://domain.cyberlynk.net and fill out the appropriate forms.
2.) If you are looking to create a website without a domain, CyberLynk provides this service free of charge. Please email support@cyberlynk.net requesting a personnel website.

What if we decide to get our own server down the road or switch to another Web site provider? What happens with our Domain name?

When we register your domain name (mycompany.com) with Network Solutions, we list YOU as the owner of the domain, the administrative and billing contact and us as the technical contact. This means you can switch your domain over at any time with no trouble. You do not need to get CyberLynk's approval to switch a domain name with Network Solutions.

What is Name Based Hosting (Host Headers)? Do I need an IP for each domain on my server?

Name based hosting is a method used to allow a server to host multiple domains with only one IP address. You do not need an IP address for each site; in fact, you only need one IP for the entire server. Name based hosting does not affect the performance or appearance of the domains hosted. It's also a good way to economize on IP usage.

When we get our own domain name, why does Network Solutions bill us?
|
|
We provide domain registration as a free service to all of our customers. Most companies will charge anywhere up to $300 for this service and keep $200 for themselves. We just list you as the billing contact and have Network Solutions mail you out your invoice. This covers your domain registration for 2 years. After the two years, you will be billed a reduced rate per year by Network Solutions for as long as you own your domain name.
